The now almost famous Kai Cookbook club is set to return in 2015 with four incredibly gastronomic events taking place between January and April.

The Cookbook club is a place where the culinary team at Kai get a chance to showcase the cookbooks that inspire them, and the food at Kai.

For those of you who have been before each event will follow a familiar format, for the new cookbookers you’re in for a real treat.

Each night the team will prepare dishes inspired from one of the books using recipes that you can then replicate yourself at home, and hopefully impress your friends.

The evening will begin at 7pm with a welcome drink, and followed by a unique menu consisting of a selection of dishes each contained within the chosen book. Each cookbook club customer will also be given a copy of the recipes to help you identify the ingredients within each dish.

Events for 2015 are as follows:

January 27: Heritage by Sean Brock

February 24: Plenty by Ottolenghi

March 31: Morito by Sam & Sam Clark

April 28: Eat Like You Give a Fuck by Thug Kitchen

More about the books….

Heritage by Sean Brock

Heritage by Brock is all about dishes that are ingredient-driven. The recipes are a mixture of all the comfort food and high-end restaurant food for which Brock has become so well-known.

Expect Big American flavours from Brocks favourites like; Crispy Pig Ear Lettuce Wraps, Slow-Cooked Pork Shoulder with Tomato Gravy, and Baked Sea Island Red Peas.

Plenty by Ottolenghi

Yotam Ottolenghi is one of the world’s most beloved culinary talents. This book will showcase the very best in vegetarian cooking combined with the very best local produce.

The book contains recipes from inspired salads to hearty main dishes and luscious desserts. This night would turn any carnivore vegetarian in a heartbeat.

Morito by Sam & Sam Clark

Sometimes it can be hard to find one thing you want to cook for yourself in a restaurant cookbook – the problem here is finding something you don’t.

This night will see the team at Kai produce a feast of tapas and mezze morsels from Sam & Sams wonderfully adventurous Mediterranean book.

The book as been described as perfect for Laid-back types who like eating to be a sociable affair: the perfect essence of Kai!

Eat Like You Give a Fuck

This is a book that gives it to you pretty straight, and prepares you for a practical world of homecooking.

Thug Kitchen offer a book of more than 100 recipes of best-loved meals, snacks, and sides. American and Mexican inspiration will throw out dishes like Roasted Beer and Lime Cauliflower Tacos, Pumpkin Chili, and Grilled Peach Salsa?

For the savvy home cook the book will also arm you with all the info and techniques you need to shop on a budget.
